A new poster featuring missing Sittingbourne man Matthew Green has been produced.
It features six images of Matt, including one of him with bare arms so people can see his tattoos.
It also carries information about his appearance at the time he disappeared, as well as contact details for people to report any sightings of him either in the UK or abroad.
It was created after three possible sightings of the self-employed roofer were made in Auckland, New Zealand, in May and June.
A man resembling the 29-year-old was spotted on two occasions by two former townspeople at the Sylvia Park shopping centre.
The other possible sighting was made outside a toilet block close to Howick beach, east Auckland, which is about 8km away from the mall.
One of the shopping-centre sightings – at a Vodafone store – has been ruled out after Matt’s parents, Pauline and Jim, viewed CCTV video stills and told Kent police the man in pictured wasn’t their son.
Mrs Green, 59, of Rock Road, Sittingbourne, said: “A lady by the name of Natalie Squire, who lives in Bedfordshire and is a member of the Facebook group Matthew Green, has done the poster for us.
“She then sent it to me to proofread. She’s done a pretty good job. This time of year, what with the weather being like it is, it’s an ideal opportunity for people to notice his tattoos.
“Jim and I are going to print a few of the posters off and take them with us when we go on holiday to Greece and hand them out.
We are hoping other people will do the same when they go away in case he is abroad.”
Matt was last seen at the family home at 8pm on April 8, 2010, when he told his parents he was going to stay with a friend in London for the weekend.
When he didn’t return home, his disappearance was reported to the police. His bank account has not been touched, and his passport has not been used.
