It’s a double celebration for staff and youngsters at King’s Nursery.
Not only did the pre-school celebrate its 15th birthday last month, it also received a good rating from Ofsted.
In its last inspection in 2010 it was found to be satisfactory.
Inspectors say there is a warm, friendly atmosphere, characterised by busy, happy children at the pre-school in the pavilion at King George’s Park in Park Avenue, Sittingbourne.
Initial assessments are carried out on the youngsters when they start.
As a result staff build on what children know and can do already and plan activities to challenge and interest them.
There is a good selection of toys and resources for pupils to choose from.
However, they have less opportunity to investigate natural materials and objects to support their understanding of the world around them.
The report says: “The managers and staff demonstrate an understanding of their responsibilities to meet the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
"Good communication is in place with parents. Staff use their training experiences effectively to review practice and implement changes to benefit children’s learning.”
Manager Kim Beech said: We are really pleased with the latest results of the inspection.
"The staff have worked really hard to get us to this position. Next time we will be looking to get an outstanding rating.
“We’d also like to thank the parents for their support along the way. It was a great way to mark our 15th year.”
