A motorist spotted doing wheel spins by a policeman was over the drink and drug-drive limits and didn't even have a licence or insurance.
Ford Fiesta driver Troy Reeve was misbehaving in Faversham's Tesco superstore car park during the town's annual Hop Festival.
The 24-year-old was pulled over in nearby South Road and checks revealed he only had a provisional licence and was not insured to drive the vehicle. He was also given drug and breath tests which proved positive.
He was arrested and later charged with drink-driving, two counts of drug-driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.
Reeve admitted the offences when he appeared before magistrates in Medway on April 5. A charge of driving while unfit through drugs was withdrawn by the CPS while he was in the dock.
The court heard when pulled over on September 4, he gave a reading of 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.
Magistrates were also told when given a blood test he was found to have 136 millilitres of Benzoylecgonine (cocaine) per litre of blood in his system, the legal limit is 50 and he also had 187 millilitres of MDMA per litre of blood in his system, the legal limit is 10.
Debbie Jones, prosecuting, said: "He made full admissions to police and has a previous conviction for drugs."
The court also heard Reeve, of Bradfield Avenue, Teynham, had purchased the car a couple of days before and hadn't intended to drive it.
He didn't know why he had done so but had been depressed and drinking heavily following the death of a friend.
Magistrates were told the ground worker had found the death difficult to deal with but he'd since stopped boozing to excess and taking drugs.
Chairman of the bench, Mark Tucker, said: "You could have killed someone. We are not social workers, we have to protect the public.
"You had two drugs and alcohol in your system and we feel this passes the custody threshold, but we are prepared to suspend the term."
Magistrates jailed Reeve for 30 days suspended and banned him from the road for 18 months for the drug and drink-driving offences.
He received no separate penalty for the two other offences, but his licence will be endorsed.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and £85 costs.
