Tonight's closures of the A249 have been cancelled.
The Maidstone-bound carriageway, between the Stockbury roundabout and Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, will remain open "thanks to work over the weekend".
A National Highways spokesman said: "Thanks to scheduled work over the weekend the plan to close the A249 Maidstone-bound section between the Stockbury roundabout and Bobbing has been cancelled."
The road was due to be sealed off overnight from 8pm yesterday, until 5am tomorrow as work continued on the £92 million revamp of Stockbury roundabout.
It comes just before the closure of the M2 junction 5 London-bound slip road this weekend.
National Highways confirmed the exit will be sealed off from Friday for barrier repairs, which aren’t related to the upgrade taking place, along the route for Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Maidstone.
The announcement comes a month after the coastbound entry and exit of the M2 at Junction 5 reopened after four months of work.
In January, drone pictures revealed what progress had been made at the site ahead of the reopening of the newly designed slip roads.
The next time the A249 Maidstone-bound between the Stockbury roundabout and Bobbing is set to be closed is from 8pm on March 27 until 5am on March 31.

During these closures, there will be intermittent lane closures on the A249 Sheppey-bound between Bobbing and the Stockbury roundabout, with a lane remaining open.
