Carriageways have now reopened following lane closures on the M2 this afternoon, due to an overturned vehicle.

The incident happened on the London bound road between junction 5 for Maidstone and Sittingbourne for the A249 and junction 6 for Faversham for the A251.

Police were called at 4.10pm to reports of an overturned car two miles before junction 5.

Two men, aged 18 and 19, are reported to have received minor injuries.

The incident was clear by 4.55pm.

Highways England tweeted to thank drivers for their patience.
