Kite Packaging, Sheppey Way, Bobbing, hits out at Palestine Action protestors after being targeted

A company has hit out at protestors after being targeted again in a “deliberate and unprovoked attack”.

Kite Packaging's regional distribution centre in Sheppey Way, Bobbing, was broken into and vandalised early Monday by a group called Palestine Action.

Its members smashed their way into the building and caused damage to several windows, doors and vehicles using a hammer.

An investigation is under way to identify those responsible.

The same building was previously targeted on July 8.

In a statement released today (Thursday) the company said it is “horrified” by the “deliberate and unprovoked attack”.

“The level of aggression and damage caused is truly terrifying and what makes the situation even worse is that our team is being targeted under false allegations perpetrated by criminals.

“This criminality seems to be based on the false belief that Kite provides ‘engineered solutions to protect, transport and store weaponry'. This is categorically untrue."

Protestors from the same group broke into the Instro Precision weapons factory at Sandwich Discovery Park earlier this year.

The group claims it found evidence of the two companies having a “business relationship”, something Kite totally dismisses.

It added: “Anyone who visits our website or comes to visit us will see we are a general supplier of industrial packaging to UK businesses.

“Kite Packaging is an employee-owned business and prides itself on helping UK business to reduce the amount of packaging they use in an effort to minimise our impact on the environment.

“There is nothing that we produce or sell that is aimed at, or specialist to, any business in the armaments industry...”

“We operate with the highest levels of corporate and social responsibility and really struggle to understand why we are being targeted.

“There is nothing that we produce or sell that is aimed at, or specialist to, any business in the armaments industry.

“This criminal activity doesn’t help the people of Palestine, it is seeking to damage a private business by creating fear and terror on the streets.

“We would ask anyone with any knowledge of who is behind this unprovoked attack to please contact the police.”

Anyone with information that may assist police should call 01795 419119, quoting crime reference 46/143986/24.
