Another major food chain could be hoping to get a slice of Sittingbourne’s High Street.
Pizza Hut appears to be eyeing up the old Betfred shop, with a change of use being submitted to turn it into a hot food takeaway.
This could provide a jobs boost for the town, with the possibility of up 20 positions for both full-time and part-time staff.
The plans show the store would be a take-away rather than a restaurant.
Pizza Hut is the second national food chain to show interest in the town centre this month following Wimpy, which plans to set up shop next to Argos.
Plans submitted to Swale council show that the operating hours would be 11am to 1am, seven days a week.
The shop has been empty since August 2015.
A spokesman for Pizza Hut Delivery said: “As a business we are continually looking at new locations across the breadth of the UK.”
