Plans have been put forward to convert an outbuilding at the bottom of a garden into a hair salon.

Tania Burns has applied for change of use planning permission for the structure in Newbridge Avenue, Milton Regis, Sittingbourne.

If approved, the salon would be open six days a week – from 9am to 3pm on weekends and from 10am to 4pm on a Saturday.

Currently used for storage, the brick building, which has a corrugated metal roof, would be extended.

The salon would operate on a "book in advance" basis, rather than a walk-in service.

There would not be any employee other than the applicant, with one customer at the salon at a time.
