Dense smoke on A249 Sheppey-bound carriageway after van fire

A van fire on the A249 Sheppey-bound carriageway has sent plumes of smoke sky-high.

Emergency services were called to the scene near the Kemsley turn-off just minutes after 4pm this afternoon.

A police spokesman said: "There have been no reports of a collision."
