Sittingbourne High Street was hit by a power cut this morning.
Engineers remain at the scene after nearly 1,000 properties were affected by the outage.
UK Power Networks confirmed an underground cable fault was to blame for the interruption at 9.47am.

She said: "We apologise for the inconvenience caused and staff are working to reconnect remaining supplies as soon as possible.
Swale council offices in East Street were among buildings hit by the power loss, which also affected traffic lights in the area.
A spokesman for the council said its phone lines went down at 9.50am but everything was being done to restore the service.
She said: "We would be grateful if people could bear with us until we get the system back up and running.
"We will be keeping people notified."
