Past and present teachers, parents and pupils attended Minterne Junior School’s 50th anniversary party.
Hundreds of people descended on the school field for the occasion which was marked with a huge birthday cake, dance performances and a fashion show.
The day was made particularly special as every former head teacher of the school was able to attend with the exception of 1960s head Dick Jones who passed away.
A huge timeline has also put up in the school hall which charts its five-decade history with old photographs, newspaper clippings and school reports.
Head of school, Catherine Hurst, said: “We are hoping that many of our current staff will be able to celebrate when Minterne reaches its 75th milestone.”
