KENT Police are urging people to be vigilant following the theft of a purse from a woman shopper, particularly in the run up to Christmas.
The woman, in her 80s, realised that the purse, containing £155 in cash, had been stolen when she went to pay for the items she had bought. Her hearing aid, valued at £50, was also taken.
The incident happened in a shop High Street, Sittingbourne, between noon and 12.15pm on Friday.
Polioce spokeswoman Sally Smith said: "We are reminding people to be vigilant when out shopping as thieves will take advantage of busy Christmas shoppers."
