There was congestion on a motorway after a car crashed into the central reservation.
Traffic was building on the M2 coastbound before junction 6 A251 between Sittingbourne and between Faversham at around 9am.
It is reported only one vehicle was involved.
Police and ambulance attended along with National Highways.
Ambulance crews treated a casualty on the roadside who had suffered a minor injury.
They had cleared the scene by 10.10am but advised drivers to avoid the area while delays cleared.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to the coastbound carriageway of the M2 between junctions five and six, after a car collided with the central reservation and left the road.
“Officers attended alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service and currently remain at the scene.”
National Highways have also been asked for information.
