Sittingbourne’s resident racing driver is back on the track and hoping to triumph in her first season competing in a hatchback.

Laura Tillett, who used to drive single seater cars, has just completed another round in the Milltek Sport Volkswagen Cup, which was held at Rockingham Speedway.

The 23-year-old and her team are now serious contenders for a position on the podium in the final.

She said: “The speed has definitely been there this weekend. When I’m racing in the pack I feel comfortable and everything is good.”

Laura will next appear at the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in Northamptonshire on the last weekend of May for rounds seven and eight of the championship.
