Six residents in Sittingbourne are celebrating after they scooped £210,000 with the People's Postcode Lottery.
Their postcode, ME10 1UL, was announced as a winner today, with five of the lucky neighbours netting £30,000 each, and a sixth doubling their prize to £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets.
Ben Crosswell, from Sittingbourne, was shocked to win £30k on the People's Postcode Lottery
The winners found out how much they'd won over video calls with People's Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.
Ben Crosswell, 29, was shocked to receive a prize cheque for £30,000.
On seeing the cheque, he said: “No way, I can’t believe it! Are you serious?
“I’m over the moon, that is brilliant.”
As the news sank in, Ben suggested a few ideas on how he could spend his winnings.
"I’m saving for a house deposit so that will massively, massively help," he said.
“I suppose I could get a new car, my car is getting quite old now. Give myself a little treat!
"I might go take myself to a showroom today and have a look at a few cars. I had been looking a few Audi’s recently, so I might get one of them.”
Ben, who works as a cabin crew member for an airline, moved away from the winning street at the end of last year, but opted to keep playing with his old postcode.
“I just had a feeling to keep playing with the old one, I thought ‘I’m not changing it!'”, he said.
Ben originally started playing after his mum told him about the lottery and joked that he would need to get a special treat for her as a thank you.
"I’ll need to treat my mum as well, she was one who told be about doing it. What do I buy her? Flowers and chocolates won’t cut it!" he joked.
The other winners chose to remain anonymous but their winnings will be transferred into their bank accounts.
Ambassador Danyl Johnson said: “A massive congratulations to all of our winners in Sittingbourne, what an amazing start to the weekend.
"I’m sure they’ll be celebrating tonight and I hope they get themselves some special treats with their winnings.”
People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10 a month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day.
A minimum of 33% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and, so far, more than £700 million has been raised for thousands of good causes across Britain and internationally.
