Sittingbourne manager Richard Brady admitted he was in the hunt for a striker after his side were again left wanting in front of goal in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Merstham.
It was the Brickies’ third draw in six Ryman League Division 1 South games this season, during which they have only scored three times.
Brady said: "It was another game we should have won and the players were disappointed afterwards.
"We are becoming difficult to beat but it’s frustrating that we are not finishing off our good work in the final third.
"We are in the hunt for someone to put that right, but it’s no secret that strikers are the people who cost the most."
Sittingbourne travel to Sussex to take on Bognor in the FA Cup first qualifying round tomorrow (Saturday), and a repeat of last weekend’s performance at Bourne Park – when the Brickies pushed Bognor all the way in a goalless league encounter – would not go amiss as far as Brady is concerned.
Carl Harrold (groin) is doubtful, while Sam Groombridge may be ruled out by work commitments.
