A person has been taken to hospital after a lorry overturned.
The accident happened on the entry slip road to the Maidstone-bound A249 at the Stockbury Roundabout near Sittingbourne.
The lorry ended up on its side at about 7.30am today (August 15).
Ambulance crews attended and treated one person before taking them to Medway Maritime Hospital.
The slip road remained closed for several hours while the vehicle was recovered. It was taken away by 4.20pm but the clear up continued.
Shortly before 6pm crews finishing resurfacing the slip road, which was only recently opened after a redesign of the roundabout.
KCC Highways confirmed traffic delays had cleared and it is understood the slip road is back open.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of an overturned lorry on the Maidstone bound carriageway of the A249 at the Stockbury roundabout, Sittingbourne.
“Officers are currently at the scene to assist with recovery and the driver of the lorry is attending a local hospital.”
Kent Highways posted on X: “Reports of an overturned lorry on the M2 J5 offslip heading southbound onto the A249 towards Maidstone.
“Emergency services are in attendance and a clear up crew are en-route to assist with the resulting oil / diesel spillage.”
