Ruins Barn Road in Tunstall has been shut after a car hit a telegraph pole this morning.

The route is closed between Bexon Lane, which runs from Bredgar, and Tunstall Road, affecting Tunstall.

Emergency services received the call at 7.43 am.

A spokesman said: "Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service are currently at Ruins Barn Road, Tunstall where a woman has injuries that are not described as serious."

She has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with facial injuries.

The road reopened at 10.10am.
