The A249 has reopened following an accident earlier today.

Two people were injured in the multiple crash on the Maidstone-bound carriageway.

It happened at about 11.30am between Key Street and Stockbury Roundabout.

A van, a recovery vehicle and a Peugeot car were involved in the accident.

A 19-year-old woman suffering from arm pain and a second patient were treated at the scene and later taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

Police attended and two lanes of the carriageway remained closed until about 3pm.
