A 21-year-old man walking home across a park was approached by two thugs who threatened him with a knife.

A struggle followed in which the victim's gold chain, worth £740, was pulled from around his neck. He suffered grazing to both his neck and arms.

Police are now appealing for information about the incident which occurred in the park off Volante Drive, Sittingbourne, between 2.30am and 2.40am on Sunday.

Police say that the robbers, who had their faces covered, at first entered into conversation with the victim. They blocked his path and one of them threatened him with the knife.

The victim has described the first robber as being male with tanned skin, about 5ft 6in tall and of stocky build. He wore a navy hooded top with red sleeves and a red hood. He also wore a dark woollen hat.

The second is described as being a white male, 6ft tall, of skinny build with fair or ginger hair. He wore a baseball cap and a cream hooded top with dark jogging bottoms.
