A young rugby player has been selected to play for the Kent School of Rugby Under-13s.
Sam Jenkins, 12, is the first Sittingbourne RFC player to represent Kent at this level for more than 10 years.
The Kent School of Rugby is sponsored by the Kent RFU and Saracens RFC. Boys from all over Kent attended trials, but only the best 20 were selected. Sam along with the other top boys will go on to Kent Elite and subsequently on to the Saracens academy.
Over the next few months the Kent squad will have nine training sessions and two games.
Sam, a Year 8 pupil at The Westlands School, in Sittingbourne, said: "I’m very pleased."
