Heathrow, Tate Modern, the British Airways i360 and… the Fulston Manor school sixth-form block.

Newly opened last year, the block has found itself nominated in the project of the year – building category at the Constructing Excellence in London and the South Awards.

Nominated by Jenner Contractors, the Sittingbourne school site was up against some big players, but Steph Harris, marketing manager for Jenner, thinks the building and the team behind it have a good chance of winning.

She said: “As a smaller scheme, the involvement of everyone showed true collaboration and teamwork throughout the scheme, which led to excellent construction and delivery of the scheme.

"We hope the panel are looking for a close-knit project team that showed delivery of a much-needed building that has benefited students.”

The winner will be named on June 29.
