A school librarian has done what hundreds failed to and beaten a quiz mastermind on national television.
Lesley Evans, who works at Sittingbourne’s Fulston Manor School, was part of a group which came out victorious on ITV’s The Chase.
The game show pits a team against one of four quiz champions, with them taking turns to answer general knowledge questions.
The episode was filmed in March but did not air until December 11 meaning Mrs Evans had to keep quiet about her success.
She battled it out against quiz champion Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinah, answering questions on a wide range of topics to eventually take home £4,600.
She said of her experience: “The show was recorded at Elstree Studios and everybody on the programme was very friendly.
“Bradley Walsh made us all feel very welcome and the rest of the team were great.
“I managed to get a Fulston Manor School a mention on national TV. The whole experience was a good one - I’d encourage anybody to have a go.”
