A schoolgirl was taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry.
The accident happened this morning in Grovehurst Road, Sittingbourne, near the Jenny Wren pub.
It is believed the teenager is a pupil at Highsted Grammar School.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 8am about a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on Pearl Walk, Sittingbourne.
"Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene where the pedestrian, a teenage girl, was treated for a head injury.
"She was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention."
A spokesman for SECAmb said: "We were called shortly before 8am today to reports a pedestrian had been injured by a lorry on the B2006 in Sittingbourne.
"Paramedics in an ambulance and a car attended.
"The pedestrian, who suffered an injury to their head, was treated before being taken to Medway Maritime Hospital."
There is a campaign to make the road a 30mph limit and a petition to install traffic calming in Sonora Way.
The petition says: "Due to Sonora Way already being used as a short cut for drivers between Quinton Road and Staplehurst Road and a new estate currently in planning of approximately 1,000 homes, most of which are likely to use Quinton Road and Sonora Way as the shortest route to the A249, we already have a problem with vehicles driving too fast along Sonora Way and this situation will only get worse if no measures are put in place."
The online petition was launched on April 4 and closes on July 14.
