A group of teenagers have received a Diana Award for their voluntary work.
The Fulston Manor Year 8 to Year 13 students give up their free time to work with fellow pupils who are vulnerable by teaching them strategies to cope with difficult situations.
All 28 were nominated for the champion volunteer category by monitoring co-ordinator Jen Ashbee.
The scheme was set up in the memory of the late Princess of Wales to recognise the outstanding achievement and efforts by young people that exceed the expectations of their peer group.
They were presented with their certificates by the school’s chairman of governors, Rita Couzins, during a presentation ceremony at the school in Brenchley Road, Sittingbourne.
The full list of winners are: Daniel Gray, Rachel Hawkins, Jenna Ellingham, Chloe Tyler, Hannah Swift, Chloe Hubbard, Renee Quartey-Peluola, Lauren Grigsby, Patrick Cantellow, Katie Upton, Charlotte Oliver, Lucy Burns, Emily Cale, Jodie Frost, Toby Turpin, Jessica Smith, Rebecca Lowe, Eleanor Blogg, Harry McDonald, Iona McGinn, Soraya Holland, Cameron Bailey, Star Ivory, Melody Butcher, Eshan Attapattu, Amy-Marie Wilson, Abigail Kemp and Amy Bowling who received one for the second time as she has started a new group for Years 7s to meet and make friends.
The original mentors who started the scheme gained their first award nine years ago and their successors in 2011.
Mrs Ashbee said “I am obviously delighted that these mentors are also deemed worthy of receiving this award.”
