A village school has issued a warning after a suspicious man was spotted lurking around its premises.

In two separate incidents, parents were reportedly followed by the man riding a bike when they dropped off their children at Borden C of E Primary School yesterday.

After the school notified Kent Police, a letter was sent out to parents urging them to be aware of the potential danger.

Following a posting about the incident on social media, a number of people have also claimed to have been spied on by him.

One wrote: "I was [in Borden Park] with my daughter and saw the same man - he watched us for ages. We were the only ones there at the time.”

Another mum, whose five-year-old daughter attends the school, called the reports “scary”.

The woman, who did not wish to be named, said: “It’s really scary, what with it being sunny and children walking home from school.

“People are seeing him in the park at Westlands School too.

“I don’t know what he’s up to, what he’s planning on doing, it’s just a bit dodgy.”

A police spokesman confirmed the force had received information about the incidents.

He added: “We were called at 8.45am on Tuesday, June 16, to a report of a man on a bike following two parents walking to Borden Church of England Primary School in School Lane.

“No offences were disclosed but the school has issued letters to parents to make them aware of the report.”
