The 90th anniversary party of the Royal British Legion was a fitting tribute to the organisation that has looked after the welfare of generations of armed forces’ personnel and their families.
More than 200 people joined the celebrations at the UK Paper Leisure Club in the Avenue of Remembrance on Sunday.
Army, Navy and airforce cadets, together with Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts filled the venue and they were joined by Mayor of Swale, Cllr Ben Stokes.
A drumhead service took place and there was a wartime dance in the evening and entertainment provided by bands and dancers.
Royal British Legion representatives Richard Stew and Norman Williams helped to organise the event which raised £800 for the charity.
Mr Stew said: “It was a fantastic day, the dancing and show of circus skills were really good. The boxing ring set up by Swale Gloves was very popular and a lot of people tried it out.”
He thanked the UK Paper Leisure Club for supporting the event by offering the hall and supplying refreshments.
