A YOUNG woman was indecently assaulted as she walked along a dark alleyway in Sittingbourne in the early hours of the morning.

The 20-year-old, from Sittingbourne, was walking from the bottom of the High Street towards Central Avenue when she came face to face with her attack in an alleyway.

The man grabbed her by the arm and indecently assaulted her. She managed to kick him and escape towards Park Road, where a member of the public saw her crying and called the police.

The assault took place at about 2am on Sunday. The attacker was white, in his early 20s, and described by the woman as 'dark European'. He was about 5ft 9, slim with short dark brown hair with a centre parting.

He was wearing a waist-length black jacket, blue jeans and white trainers.
