A dad-of-one could not believe his eyes when he spotted a shopper wearing a Stormtrooper helmet during the coronavirus outbreak.
Mark Mattocks, from Sittingbourne, filmed the extraordinary encounter while he and his girlfriend, Holly Bessant, were shopping at Asda in Mill Way on Monday at about 2pm.
The video, which he shared on Facebook, along with the caption: 'Stop the planet I wanna get off', has since been viewed 1.6million times.
The 35-year-old taxi driver said: "We were just in there walking past the aisles and we saw this lady shopping with that on her head.
"We froze and then took a back step and I just thought to myself, 'I have got to film this'.
"I was shocked and just laughed. I couldn't believe it."
"She was deadly serious because we saw her go back to the car, it was no prank," he added.
Mr Mattocks said the reaction he'd had from posting the video had been great.
"I thought it would be funny but I never thought it would go viral," he said.
"People have thanked me for making their day."
Meanwhile, huge queues built up outside supermarkets across Kent this morning when the first hour was reserved for the over 70s and vulnerable people.
Shoppers responded to the idea in great numbers after shelves were being stripped in response to the coronavirus.
