Joe Dowley says Sittingbourne need to make the most of a run of winnable games if they are to climb up Ryman League, Division 1 South.
Sittingbourne came from being behind three times but went down 4-3 in a rollercoaster game at promotion-chasing Whitehawk on Tuesday night but Brickies boss Dowley (pictured) was left frustrated.
Dowley said: "We played quite well, particularly going forward, but our defending cost us. We gave them two goals in the second half and we can’t afford to do that against a side who want to be up there."
On Saturday Bourne visit Whyteleafe – who are winless in nine league games – looking to avoid a fourth straight away league defeat and end a run of five games without a win in all competitions.
Dowley added: "We have been struggling for results a bit lately but I said after the game that if we perform like that on Saturday we will win the game.
"I’ve not looked at the table since I’ve been in charge but I know we need to pick up a few wins, however we get them. Hopefully we can do that in the next few games."
Bourne could feature Luke Coleman, who joined from Cray Wanderers in the lead-up to the Whitehawk trip, while Elie Kayembe could retain his place after impressing in mid-week.
