A Sittingbourne man has been released on conditional bail after he was arrested in connection with an assault that left a footballer paralysed.

The 33-year-old was arrested on suspicion of GBH at an address in Brentwood, Essex yesterday.

He will return to answer bail on February 24th.

Billericay Town goalkeeper Nicky Morgan was left paralysed from the waist down after an attack out the back of the Sugar Hut nightclub, in Brentwood, on October 28, at 2.30am.

The 25-year-old has remained at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, since the attack but according to Mr Morgan’s online blog he was expected to be transferred to a spinal unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, in Buckinghamshire, yesterday.
