Swale council to hand out free bags of salt to residents in preparation for the winter weather

Free bags of salt will be handed out to residents this weekend in preparation for the winter weather.

More than 3,500 sacks will be delivered to three car parks by Swale council’s waste and recycling contractor Biffa today.

They can be collected between 10am and 2pm at the following locations: Rose Street, Sheerness; Central Avenue, Sittingbourne and Leslie Smith Drive, Faversham.

The packs come in two sizes, 12.5kg and 25kg, and supplies are limited to one per person.

It is the second year the scheme has been run by the local authority.
