Children from the town’s Regis Manor Primary School were welcomed at a £7.8 million “hotel complex” for the elderly.
The residents, who moved into Regis Gate last month, enjoyed carols and Christmas songs as well an afternoon tea with the youngsters.
Santa paid a visit and gave out presents while Olaf the snowman from the Disney animation Frozen was also on hand for photos.
Housing provider AmicusHorizon demolished Wyllie Court off Attlee Way to make way for the development, consisting of 51 one and two bedroom apartments for rent and shared ownership for those aged 55 plus.
It boasts a cafe, which serves people living on site with two-course meals every day, a hair salon, activity rooms, a reception area, wifi and a guest room, as well as gardens and parking.
Scheme manager Christine Brown said: “We’re so grateful to the children and teachers for welcoming our new residents in this way. They really enjoyed singing along with the well known carols and songs.”
