Supermarket staff and customers say they have been forced to wear hats, gloves and coats to battle the in-store cold after the heating broke.
Morrisons in Sittingbourne has been suffering from the issue for “about a month”, according to one staff member.
It has affected workers and shoppers alike with team members spotted wrapping up with extra layers while working the tills and stocking the shelves.
One customer, Sandra Yeman, described it as a “horrible shopping experience”.
“I’m having trouble picking things up, I have to walk around with gloves on,” said the 79-year-old.
“I feel terrible for the people who are working there, it must be awful.”
A staff member told KentOnline: “It’s been like this for a while, about a month I’d say.
“It’s not the nicest atmosphere to come into.”
It comes as Kent has battled extreme weather in recent times, with two storms and consistently low temperatures as winter continues to sweep in.
Though slightly warmer temperatures will come next week, it will peak at about 12C, according to the Met Office.
A Morrisons spokesperson confirmed the issue to KentOnline, saying: “The store is aware of the issue and is working hard to fix it.
“We'd like to apologise to all customers for the inconvenience it is causing.
“A temporary solution is being installed on Monday while the team continues to work on fixing it permanently.”
