A family say they were moved by a heartwarming gift left by a stranger in a random act of kindness.
Leanne Strevens was walking to the Co-op in Murston with her two children, Michael and Jessica, when they came across a folded piece of paper on a wall in Homeview Terrace.
When nine-year-old Michael picked it up, he noticed it contained a short, hand-written message and had a pound coin taped to the back of it.
It said: "Dear stranger, I don't know you and you don't know me, but I have had this urge to leave these notes everywhere. Be kind!"
Mrs Strevens, 33, said: "It was brilliant, a lovely thing to find.
"I got a cake for the children at the All Saints' Church sale with the money.

"It's only a pound, but you don't know what that's worth to someone else – that could be their last pound."
The family, who live in Thistle Walk, Murston, are now planning to pay forward the kind act in the hope it will spread.
"My little boy has thought of a few things – maybe leaving another message somewhere or something else similar," Mrs Strevens added.
The note is reminiscent of another random act of kindness in Sittingbourne this time last year. On that occasion, Stuart Rayfield noticed a wrapped parcel on a bench inside the Forum Shopping Centre.
The then 27-year-old read the message on the gift tag, which said: "For whoever finds this gift, it is yours xx Copycat."
Inside was a book called Life Is What We Make It and a card urging him to spread a positive message on social media.
A further present – a book – was found by another person at Minster beach on Sheppey.
