A four-year-old boy enjoyed the day of every young lad’s dreams when he came face-to-face with his superhero in the High Street.
Accompanying his mum on a shopping trip to Sittingbourne, Ronan Finch bumped straight into Spider-Man.
The hero was in fact 18-year-old fan Daniel Olteanu from Milstead, who was on his way to London to watch the latest movie.
Ronan, of Pemberton Rise, in Teynham, was in town to get a new pair of trainers, which ironically were Spider-Man ones.
No longer than 10 minutes later, Ronan could not believe his eyes when the character came along to say hi to him near Roman Square.
They took pictures together and practised some super hero poses.
Mum Toni Finch said it all happened while Ronan, his brother and their nan were waiting for her to run some errands.
She said: “I could hear all this commotion outside, with people laughing and giggling. So I slipped out the window and saw this Spider-Man standing there, taking pictures with my son. He absolutely made his day.”
“My son got all excited and started saying ‘Look, there’s Spider-Man! There’s Spider-Man!’, and afterwards he kept asking me to go on a hunt around town to find him,” she added.
Toni, said she was so happy to see her son so joyful and having his own moment of fame.
She said: “I have another son who was with me that day. His name’s Odin, who’s nearly three, and is severely autistic. Therefore I don’t get out the house very much at all because it’s hard to go out with both at the same time.
“When we do go out, Ronan stays always next to me as his brother is always crying. So it was nice for someone to take time out and pay attention to him for once instead of his little brother.”
Spider-Man Daniel, who attends sixth form at Westlands School, came into town get some new socks at Sports Direct before going to the 4DX cinema at The O2. Little did he know that more than five children would be screaming his name in the streets.
“Honestly, it felt so amazing. I was not expecting to have such an impact on the kids like that and it truly means a lot to me,” he said.
“I only dressed up for this one occasion as a laugh and because it was the opening day of the new movie.
I don’t know if I would consider myself a super fan but I guess if I would wear a costume in public you could say so.”
