A pair of suspected car thieves have been arrested after a Volkswagen was stolen during an alleged burglary.

Officers spotted the vehicle being driven over the Sheppey Crossing at 12.10am on Friday.

They pursued the car which allegedly failed to stop.

It continued to Warden where the occupants fled the car on foot.

Following a search of the area, a 20-year-old man from Sheerness and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Jetty Road.

Both were later released on police bail while inquiries.
