A new logo (pictured) has been created for Swale Council, but there’s been no song and dance about it due to tight budgets.
The design was created by the in-house graphic design team and was heavily influenced by customer feedback which the council received while developing its new look website.
A spokesman for the council said: "Our brand was considered outdated, old fashioned and the turquoisey-green was difficult for some people to see - particularly those with a visual impairment. It was also felt the Swallow (which was facing down in the old logo) was facing the wrong way.
"We are obviously acutely aware that we are in a time of tight budgets so the exercise has been done at minimal cost, there isn’t going to be a big launch and we aren’t rushing out to replace every logo in the borough. The approach we will be taking is where something is new, needs replacing or repairing then it will use the new logo. So as we update documents, for example the new corporate plan, or repair our assets - for example the front of the building, or replace allotment signs these will bear the new logo."
