Land owned by Tesco is up for sale 18 months after it cancelled its £110 million plan to build there.
Rumours had been circulating that the site at Milton Creek, near Kemlsey, Sittingbourne, had been bought but the firm says that is not the case.
The company’s regeneration arm, Spenhill, had planned to build an Extra store at Milton Creek, expand The Forum shopping centre, which it owns, and construct a bridge linking the sites.
But in April 2013 the News Extra revealed how the supermarket was pulling the plug on the development, blaming poor nationwide sales figures and problems getting its plans approved.
A spokesman said: “We are actively marketing our site to ensure that it is developed and put to good use.
“We will keep the community updated with our progress.”
