A “neglected” dog has been found roaming the streets with “sore weeping skin” prompting an appeal for information.
The male Shar Pei breed was discovered straying around The Street in Sittingbourne on Sunday.
The dog is described as having gooey eyes, sore weeping skin and is not chipped. He is also covered in a large amount of scarification.
Swale council’s Stray Dog Service said: “Like many others currently in our care, this is a welfare case.
“We're desperately seeking information on this dog and urge anyone who recognises him to come forward, even if they wish to remain anonymous.
“This is neglect. If the owner comes forward but cannot prove he's been stolen or is long term missing, we will be seeking legal action for failings under The Animal Welfare Act 2006.”
If anyone has any information contact Swale council on 01795 417850.
