A garage has closed without warning – just weeks after its rival neighbour’s yard was sold at auction.
Chalkwell Garage Services in Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, has shut its doors to customers.
The business specialised in MOT testing and servicing for cars and commercial vehicles.
It also offered diagnostics and other vehicle repair services for tyres, air conditioning and more.
It had been open from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, and on Saturdays from 8am until 12.30pm.
However, a member of the company has since confirmed its closure.
The decision has come as a surprise to its customers, with one person saying: "No way. Going to have to find somewhere else now."
Another added: "What happened to the business?"
Bosses have been contacted for more information about why the place is no longer open.
Chalkwell also provides coach hire and bus services, which remain trading.
It comes just two weeks after the business next door, Discount Tyres, went under the hammer for almost half a million pounds.
Land and property auctioneer Clive Emson had put a guide price of £250,000-plus on the former yard but at an auction on December 13, the premises were sold for £454,000 after 114 bids.
