Part of the new A2 which has been shut for several months will reopen on Monday.
St Michael's Road and Milton Road in Sittingbourne will reopen after four months of being shut, while the remaining works in Dover Street will continue.
These works are due to be completed the following week.
The roadworks, which were originally supposed to be finished before children went back to school in September, are part of the £57 million Spirit of Sittingbourne regeneration project.
Now that phase is completed, the construction of the leisure quarter will start.
This will include an eight-screen cinema, restaurants such as Nandos and Pizza Express and a Travelodge hotel.
A Spirit of Sittingbourne spokesman said: "We are delighted to open the A2 in line with the revised timetable.
"The opening of the road will significantly improve traffic flow through Sittingbourne town centre.
"We are now beginning construction of the leisure quarter, which will bring a host of brand new leisure facilities to Sittingbourne."
The scheme is expected to attract up to 400,000 visitors to the town a year.
