A Sittingbourne hair and beauty salon is proving to be a cut above the rest after winning three awards – and it’s only been open 16 months.
Owners Joanne Halls and Olivia Boniface launched Boniface Hair and Beauty in July 2020.
The pair took over the premises in Rectory Road in March, but were not able to open until the summer due to Covid-19.
It was then hit by further lockdowns and strict rules throughout the year, but that did not stop it from being nominated by a client for this year’s Kent Hair and Beauty Awards.
The awards ceremony was held at Ashford International Hotel and Spa at the beginning of the month and the salon scooped the top prize in the New Business of the Year category, as well as a silver in the Health and Beauty Champion of the Year category and bronze for being the Hair Salon of the Year.
Joanne, who has run salons for more than 25 years, said: “It was so lovely for our team to have been recognised after such a difficult time.
“The whole hair and beauty industry has been hit hard during the pandemic; it’s been really difficult for us all.
“When you think how we started the year in lockdown and the difficult circumstances we all went through, it’s nice to have something positive come out of it.
“It was also nice to be able to all get together and celebrate.”
She added: “I’m so proud of what our team has achieved, especially in the short amount of time we’ve been open, and the support we’ve had from the community has been amazing.”
The salon offers all hair services, as well as beauty treatments including for nails, eyelashes, brows and high-end facials. More here.
