There were fears a reality TV star wouldn’t be at a Sittingbourne fundraiser after he disappeared.
James ‘Arg’ Argent, who stars in the ITV2 series The Only Way is Essex, sparked a missing person alert after he left to catch a flight but failed to turn up at the airport.
The Metropolitan Police said it was growing increasingly concerned for the 26-year-old’s welfare as he hadn’t been seen since he left his home in Woodford Green, east London, at around 3am on Friday.
His last tweet on August 28 said: “I really miss my old pal @LydiaRoseBright will you hurry up and get back from Italy ASAP! #Needy x”
But after being found safe and well on Saturday, it emerged he had turned up at the wrong airport with a broken phone leaving him apparently unable to contact anyone.
Despite the drama, he is still set to attend CanBeat music festival which takes place between 11am and 10pm at the UKP Sports Pavilion in Gore Court Road, on Saturday.
It includes performances from artists Hayley Erin Kennedy, Dead Reckoning, Rapture, Nikki H from BBC1’s The One and Only, Small Town Kings and DeckaJam plus many more.
Attractions include a fun fair, giant inflatables, gladiator duel, stilt walkers, face painting, mediums, dance displays, laser tag, raffle, a tug-of-war and stalls run by local businesses.
Jamie Johnson from The Voice will also be in attendance.
It has been organised by Sabrina Smith as a tribute to her father Graham, 52, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. He won his fight but is undergoing tests to see if it has returned.
Her friend Aimee Willett, 26, who lives in the town, is undergoing treatment for womb cancer.
All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.
Speaking about James’s disappearance, the 27-year-old, of Park Road, Sittingbourne, said: “I wasn’t too worried about Arg at first then as it went on I couldn’t hold of him or others I knew.
“Then it was on the news and people were asking me questions via the website. I was a bit worried about what I was going to do, but then it was all alright.”
A limited number of tickets will be available to buy on the door. The price is £10 for adults, £5 for 11 to 16-year-olds and free for under-11s.
