Motorists faced delays after a vehicle caught fire this afternoon.

One lane was shut on the coastbound M2 after the vehicle caught alight.

Two fire engines were sent to the scene after a call came through just after 3.20pm.

The closure is currently in place between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 6 for Faversham.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
