Kerry talks about her time with GI Jane
Bootcamp
By Hayley
Robinson
Two weeks of 11-hour days of
exercising have certainly paid off for former Atomic Kitten star
Kerry Katona.
Looking slim, tanned and relaxed
the mum of four chatted to chief reporter Hayley Robinson about her
time with the GI Jane Bootcamp which is run by super tough marines
at a secret location in Sittingbourne.
The 29-year-old claims the training
has literally changed her life and after losing a stone in weight
and five-and-a-half-inches of fat from her body she’s excited and
proud about showing off her new 9st 3lbs frame.
She said: "It’s the best thing
that’s ever happened to me. It’s not just about the fitness and
losing weight it cleanses you and you meet some fantastic people.
It’s been great fun.
"I’m a right lazy cow but doing
this has been absolutely blinding, I’ve got the bug for exercise -
it’s been drilled into me for two weeks.
"When I got here I couldn’t even do
one push up but I was doing 30 by the end of the week.
"Now it’s about maintaining the
exercise. The kids are in school during the day plus I’ve got a
nanny so I go jogging at 6.15am, then at home I’m exercising and
dancing around the house, I take the kids to school, go to the gym
for half an hour.
"I was a size 12 but now I’m a size
eight to 10."
In a bid to shift the weight Kerry not only embarked on
long walks, runs and swimming sessions but also stuck to a
carefully developed sensible and healthy eating plan during her
stay.
The former face of Iceland who has
bi-polar, said: "Your taste buds change. All I used to eat was fast
food but then I started having nice food and it’s really good.
"I also spoke to a nutritionist
(during my stay) so it’s not all outside running around.
"I’ve never felt better. I feel
refreshed and I’ve got a spring in my step.
"I’d recommend it to anyone,
especially if you’re suffering from depression. It’s a great
experience and it’s about team work.
"The thought of wearing a swimsuit
used to fill me with dread but now I can’t wait to show off my new
body. I look in the mirror and think bloody hell!
"This is it, I’m looking straight
ahead - it really has been a life changing experience."
