A vintage musical instrument has been snapped up after its owner decided to give it away.
The piano accordion was recovered from a house clearance and given to former mayor of Swale, Peter Morgan, with the intention he donated it to Sittingbourne Museum.
But as it couldn't be authenticated as being specific to the town, it remained part of the furniture at his Park Road home.
That was until he contacted Sittingbourne News Extra to announce he was giving it away.
He had a number of inquiries, but the lucky recipient was Frank Holmes, 76, from Home View, Murston.
Frank, a retired Kent Highways staff member, plans to restore the instrument before learning how to play it.
He said: "Once I've mastered it, I'm going to take it to old people's homes and schools to entertain people."
