Offers have been pouring in from businesses interested in sponsoring a couple’s wedding.
Last week, we reported how Stacy Burnett, 29, and Daniel Webb, 28, were throwing their big day open to companies so they can get wed for free.
The lovebirds, who have been together two years, had hoped to marry this year.
The bride-to-be had bought her wedding dress and two bridesmaids’ outfits in anticipation of booking their nuptials.
The pair even moved into Stacy’s parents home to save money.
But the rising cost of getting hitched meant they had to put their plans on hold.
Now their dreams are a step closer to becoming a reality as seven companies have got in touch offering everything from a wedding venue, disco and cars to a cake and rings.
Mum-of-one Stacy and her fiancé Daniel, who works as a machine operator at Thames Reinforcements Ltd, New Road, Sheerness, plan to make contact with the possible sponsors to discuss the finer details and hope to set a date.
Stacy, who lives in Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, said: "I’m absolutely shocked by the response.
"I’m really surprised, it’s amazing that we’ve had that many offers.
"The biggest cost we were worrying about was the venue and the catering so if someone is offering that then that’s great.
"I will definitely get in touch with them. I’m sure Daniel will be as pleased as I am.
"We expected to get offers of maybe a disco and a cake so we can’t thank the News Extra enough for printing the story."
