A man suffered cuts and swelling to his face after he was attacked in the town centre.

The 34-year-old was assaulted in High Street, Sittingbourne, at around 11pm on November 11. Police have only just released the details.

The male suspect is described as being around 30-years-old, clean shaven, 5ft 9ins with light brown collar length hair.

Detective Constable Kathryn Earle said: "I would like to reassure the public that this was not a random assault and that the victim and the suspect were known to each other.

"There were a number of people in the area at the time and I am appealing to those people to come forward with any information they have. We are actively seeking a named suspect to bring him into custody."
