Woman taken to hospital after crash on A-road

A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital with neck and back injuries after a crash on the A249 near Sittingbourne on Wednesday afternoon.

Police closed the Sheppey-bound carriageway and directed traffic up the Key Street slip road at 1.25pm.

Firefighters from Sittingbourne and Medway were sent to the scene and were able to give first aid to the woman in the car until the ambulance arrived.

Two children, who were also in the car at the time, were already out by the time the crews arrived. They were not hurt.
